Cycling between Terrils
A new way to experience nature
Just a stone’s throw from Maasmechelen Village, Terhills - a former coal mining site now transformed into a stunning nature reserve and leisure destination- unveils a new 380-meter floating bridge, offering visitors a fresh way to explore its stunning landscapes. The bridge connects the iconic terrils and provides 360° views of the lush surroundings, with water and greenery stretching across the horizon.
Designed to blend with nature
The bridge’s transparent balustrades and undulating structure seamlessly integrate into the environment, creating an organic experience. Visitors will feel as though they are floating over the water while enjoying uninterrupted views of the landscape.
Accessible to cyclists and walkers
Located between cycle junctions 565 and 502, the floating bridge is open to both cyclists and walkers. Hiking routes are available at the National Park Visitor Centre, providing easy access to this remarkable attraction.
