Founded in 1999, Make-A-Wish Spain® is a non-profit organisation that aims to inspire hope in children whose lives are restricted by critical illness. When a child’s biggest wish is granted, they can enjoy unique, life-changing experiences that bring moments of joy, hope and happy memories. Not only does this enrich the child’s life, it also contributes to the resilience of their family when they need it most. The charity works with the medical community to give children the strength they need to face the physical and mental challengers of their illnesses.

Since it was established, Make-A-Wish Spain® has supported more than 4,100 people and granted 1,140 individual wishes, helping on average an additional 300 children each year through group projects in 43 hospitals throughout Spain.

In 2009, the charity became an affiliate of Make-A-Wish International®, which has a presence in more than 50 countries on five continents and has been awarded Charity Navigator’s highest distinction of four stars.
