La Rambla’s Cordoba municipality has historically been linked to traditional customs and crafts. Today, potters who work in the most traditional way coexist with avant-garde artists who’ve elevated ceramics to the status of art while keeping in touch with their traditional roots.

Nuria Blanco

Drawing on her experience as an artist and her love of experimentation, Nuria Blanco has created tableware by nuriablanco. Divided into different collections, the artist unleashes her imagination to tell stories with unique, hand-painted pieces that create a picture on the table or on the wall.

Álvaro Villamañan, a self-taught ceramicist, has two lines of work: he creates a variety of utilitarian ceramic objects following the ‘kohiki’ and ‘Shino’ traditions and crafts a more artistic line, fired in his anagama kilns, inspired by ‘Shigaraki’ and ‘Iga’ pottery.
